1. YAY
2. THIS 8 minute abs video
My fav Hungry Runner Girl always does this video, so I finally tried it out. It did give my abs a good workout, plus the outfits/hair/everything is the best thing ever.
3. Is the Tough Mudder too tough?
Not sure how I missed the news that someone died during a Tough Mudder recently, but it’s really sad. Though sometimes accidents can’t be helped, it shows we really need to prepare for the dangers of any endurance sport we participate in.
4. Starting a new book club book
Summer = lots of treadmill reading. I did my “long run” outside last Saturday and I continued to sweat for approximately 5 hours afterwards.
5. The mind + body section of the most recent edition of Runner’s World
My longer runs are about to start soon, and I’m pretty sure a lot of my slowness, etc comes from needing to work on my mental toughness.
1. Photos from the beach last week
2. Finally having the time to do some reading!
This book made me want to go get weird on a trail somewhere.
3. Thug Kitchen
My aunt showed this to me at the beach. Hilariousness.
4. What my fortune cookie told me
Why can I not stop laughing?
5. There are races to train for
I promise to give you all the new deets next week!
1. Pinkeye.
The juice cleanse really youth-ified me, right back to about third grade. Since third graders are usually the people that get pinkeye.
2. Scouring the New York Times Best Sellers list.
It kind of reminds me of summer book lists at school, which I always loved. Pumped that I have lots of Nook Book $$$ to burn.
In the beginning of the week I didn’t exercise because of the juice cleanse, but for the past few days I’ve still been sittin’ on my butt. Kind of nice but hopefully I’ll get some yoga in later today and feel a little more productive.
Doing this again.
5. Taking a vacation.
Tuna and I heading down to the beach for a week with some of my fam. So. excited.
1. Conquering mountains hills.
I can’t believe I survived! That was one hilly-ass run.
I used to think this show was too scary for me, but Tuna got me hooked again. Now I just look over my shoulder every .2020949 seconds.
3. A Memorial Day run.
Extra time off of work = run.
I saw this the other day on Instagram. Love.
5. THIS article from Buzzfeed.
It’s making me just the tiniest nervous about this whole juice cleanse thing.
Weekendddd, woohoo!
1. Dropping my last left-eye contact. Down the toilet.
Karma, what did I do to deserve this?
2. Looking like a crazy person running on the trail.
This is what I looked like trying to swat the shit out of the entire gnat population in the DC metropolitan area on my Wednesday evening run. She-who-shall-not-be-named.
3. Freaking out because Monday is almost here.
The Bachelorette is a trashy-ass show. I love it.
4. Simultaneous happy and sad feelings.
Happy: I have a ridiculous amount of oatmeal in my possession. Sad: The can is so big it won’t fit in the cabinet.
5. Not having a race on the schedule in the near future.
I’ll probs be sad about this in approximately 2 days, but for now it’s kind of nice. I feel like I’m on summer vacation.
What is something you’re excited about from this week?
Do you have any cool long-weekend plans?
1. If you follow me on twitter, you’d know:
The recipe I tried was a fail. Like uber fail. (Though it looked good, Mom!)
I tried my very best to choke it down but couldn’t. I think the issue was the banana. Which is a problem because it was the base.
2. THIS article about Game of Thrones.
(I can’t help myself!) My personal favs are 4, 13, 14, 21, and 31.
3. A behind the scenes look at CNG.
My phone accidentally snapped this when I was posing my guac deviled eggs on Tuna’s balcony. Yup, this is my life. Embarr.
I’m lovin’ this Thymes Moonflower lotion and my new lavender scented candle. Tuna’s sis gave me the lotion for my birthday and it is SPARKLY.
5. Watching most of Fat, Sick, & Nearly Dead last night.
My friend Mal recommended it to me in my quest to find out more about healthy food. I’ll do a review next week – can’t wait to finish it!
If you’re a blogger, do you ever feel funny taking pictures of your food?
Have you ever had a recipe gone wrong? What happened?!
